Why Philadelphia is a Great Place to Study Art

One could certainly make a case for Philadelphia's placement at the forefront of the American arts scene. It is home to the country's oldest art museum, the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, which was founded in 1805. More than 2,000 murals grace the city through its Mural Arts Program. This program is so successful and popular that trolley tours are held to showcase the murals in various parts of the community. The city's commitment to public art is also evident in displays in buildings such as the convention center, city hall, and airport.
