Why Philadelphia is a Great Place to Study Language

Philadelphia is a large city with many educational opportunities for people interested in pursuing a foreign language career. About 1/3 of the city's population is foreign born. This percentage has been growing and is expected to continue to grow in the future. This has resulted in more ESL programs in schools and the need for interpreters and translators. Internships can be found and there are volunteer opportunities with several organizations in Philadelphia for students to gain experience. A variety of annual events in the city allow students to experience cultural and languages from around the world.
